The Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics (CAAM) at Rice University in Houston, Texas, invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in the mathematical sciences focused on inverse problems and deep learning, under the supervision of Professor Maarten V. de Hoop.
Candidates must have obtained a PhD preceding the date of appointment in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field, and have strong background and record of accomplishment in partial differential equations, inverse problems, machine learning or statistics.
Term of appointment will be two years with competitive salary and benefits and possibility of one additional year contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The term of appointment may commence anytime between September 1, 2018 and July 1, 2019.
